What does the PTO fund?

As a non-profit organization, the Claxton Elementary PTO relies on generous donors like you. Our volunteers contribute countless volunteer hours and raise money each year for our school. Membership in the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) automatically includes all parents or guardians of children attending Claxton Elementary and all teachers and staff employed by Claxton Elementary (there are no membership forms or dues).

The Objects of the Organization are:

  1. To promote the welfare of all Claxton students in their homes, school and community.
  2. To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that families and teachers may cooperate in students’ education.
  3. To promote and develop the unique strengths of Claxton Elementary — recognizing the value of the rich diversity of its student body, which reflects all social, economic, racial, ethnic and religious groups.
  4. To conduct fundraising activities for the advancement of students and the support of teachers.
